More On Eminent Domain

The American Farm Bureau released a national opinion poll that Americans are unified nearly 2 to 1 against government misuse of eminent domain powers. The phone poll was conducted by Zogby International, a nationally prominent pollster, during October 29th thru November 2, 2005. Results indicate that unless the land taken is for a public purpose such as a road or utility expansion, more than 60% of respondents are against it. When eminent domain is used to benefit private development, 83% of those polled oppose such action.
