In July 2006, legislation was signed into law by Governor Corzine extending window guard regulation which applies to multiple dwelling rentals to include condominiums and cooperatives. The new law requires the landlord or rep to verbally inform the tenant, at the time the lease is signed, of the tenant’s right to request installation of approved window guards.
