Slight Ease in Home Sales

The residential market is experiencing a slight rebound after a 9 month decline as buyers take advantage of softening prices and stable interest rates. State-wide, unsold inventory of homes on the market increased only 1% in August 2006, compared to a 47% increase in the first 6 months of the year. First time buyer sales have been steady since they do not have a home to sell in order to purchase. Adult community sales have slowed as buyers have had a hard time selling their primary residence.
